Not much lately..

I haven't been doing much lately because first I had some stomach bug for a week and now I feel like I have a sinus infection! I never get sick but when I do I really do I guess.

Halloween was fun. We had a lot of trick or treaters and the dogs were a hit in their shark costumes.

I've made a tradition of going to Waikiki to Kuhio beach every Saturday for a couple hours while Brett is at work. He's not a fan of laying out but I am!

The above photo is from our new favorite restaurant. It's called The Shack and it's in Hawaii Kai right on the water. It is awesome! Good prices too, especially during happy hour.

We've discovered that most of the restaurants we love we save for special occasions or go during happy hour - living here is way more expensive than Oklahoma!

Gas is $4.14 a gallon right now (down from $4.29). Brand name milk is over $7 a gallon! Cereal is about $4.25. And these are prices at Target (which is surprisingly cheaper than Wal Mart here). It's crazy but we are managing :) I have no idea how we will afford anything when I start school but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail

A few weeks ago we did the Makapu'u lighthouse trail in Waimanalo. It was gorgeous. It was a paved path all the way up, but it was uphill the entire way. The views were gorgeous the whole way. We even saw some mongooses! I won't get used to seeing those (instead of squirrels) for a long time. They are too cute!

Gorgeous coastline

The hike to the top was gorgeous and worth the views! It was 2 miles round trip and wasn't very difficult since the path was paved the whole way. There are some trails leading off the paved path and some tide pools people climb down to that we will probably visit :)
